LeisureWorld and Team Up Collaborate to Enhance Inclusive Programs for Individuals with Down Syndrome
18/04/2024 – LeisureWorld proudly announces its collaboration with Team Up in delivering innovative programs catering to individuals with Down Syndrome. Through Team Up’s groundbreaking buddy system, participants can now receive support in a group setting, fostering a two-way learning experience and promoting the message of #InclusionForAll.
The initiative, spearheaded by Therese McNamee, who is the parent of a child with Down Syndrome and coordinator, has witnessed remarkable success over the past few months. Initially focusing on Strength and Conditioning, and more recently expanding to Aquafit sessions, these programs aim to empower individuals with Down Syndrome to lead active and fulfilling lives.
“We are thrilled to be part of this meaningful collaboration with Team Up,” said Aoife Campbell, Senior Manager Communications at LeisureWorld. “Our joint efforts have resulted in the establishment of two distinct weekly programs: Team Up Strength and Fit, along with Team Up Aquafit. These sessions not only provide valuable physical activities but also foster a sense of community and support.”
Both Team Up Strength and Fit, as well as Team Up Aquafit programs, are now open for booking, inviting individuals of all abilities to participate and thrive.
