We are LW Management

We were founded in 1997 and over 22 years later, we have become one of the leading leisure, recreation and cultural providers in Cork City. Over 110 passionate staff members serve a footfall of over 1 million each year and within our buildings, you’ll find 6 swimming pools, 2 gyms, 12 football pitches, an 18-hole golf course and a church dating back to the 12th century that now serves as a cultural & heritage centre.

Full Time Duty Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of day to day operations of the facility, ensure the facility operates efficiently and effectively at all times.
  • Champion superior customer service; ensuring that the entire team deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Foster an environment of success, teamwork and collaboration.
  • Assist the Senior Duty Manager with all facility operations and administration to ensure we follow through on our commitments to the customer.
  • Monitor on an ongoing basis staff attendance, timekeeping, productivity and presentation.
  • Liaise with the team, ensuring that the facility is presented in the most appealing and clear manner at all times.

Gym Supervisor

Job Summary:

The gym supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the delivery of all health and fitness-related activities and services, including the studio, gym, functional zone, and related events.

This role integrates all aspects of fitness, personal training, and health & wellness services, ensuring seamless operation and high-quality service delivery. A significant portion of the working week will be dedicated to hands-on involvement in these areas, actively leading and delivering programs and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Compliance: Follow the company’s Normal Operating Procedures (NOP) and Emergency Action Plan (EAP) at all times.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure full compliance with the organization’s Health & Safety Policy.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep of all gym equipment and promptly report any defects to the appropriate team or stakeholders.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and report potential hazards or incidents to minimize risks to customers and colleagues
  • Facility Compliance: Follow all facility policies, rules, and regulations while on shift.
  • Equipment Management: Ensure the safe handling, transportation, and storage of centre equipment.
  • Setup & Teardown: Assist in setting up and dismantling equipment for various activities and events as needed.
  • Facility Cleanliness: Perform daily cleaning tasks to maintain high hygiene and cleanliness standards throughout the building.
  • Record Keeping: Complete necessary checks and logs while carrying out duties.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other departmental duties and tasks assigned by senior management.
  • Service Coordination: Plan, communicate, and lead key staff in delivering existing services and developing new programs and activities.
  • Business Performance Management: Oversee and monitor the performance of the Health & Wellness department, working with management to drive improvements.
  • Staff Performance Oversight: Provide regular feedback to staff, addressing performance issues and escalating concerns to senior management as necessary.
  • Workforce Management: Assist with rostering, managing staffing levels, and supporting recruitment efforts as directed by senior management.

Knowledge

  • Qualifications & Experience: A degree in sports, exercise, or health science, or relevant work experience in the field
  • Clinical Population Engagement: Interest in working with diverse clinical groups, including individuals managing weight, MS, Parkinson’s, cardiac rehabilitation, disabilities, stroke recovery, mental health conditions, and older adults.
  • Specialized Training: Additional qualifications such as Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase IV or other health/medical-related physical activity certifications are desirable.
  • Leadership & Communication: Ability to confidently lead programs and communicate effectively with both the public and allied health professionals.
  • Physical Fitness: Maintain a high level of strength and endurance to meet the demands of the role.
  • Qualification Maintenance: Employees are responsible for ensuring their certifications remain up to date.
