Lets go baking!!

We know alot of you are missing the social side of fitness and we are certainly missing it too!

So the wonderful Kristine from the cafe has put together a video showing you how you yourself can have your cup of tea and scone at home instead! We know its not the same without the company but we are getting there folks and every little helps!πŸ™‚

Kristines Wholemeal Scones
Ingredients
βœ…300g Self-Raising flour
βœ…300g wholemeal flour
βœ…1tsp baking powder
βœ…1 pinch salt
βœ…1 medium egg (extra 1 for glaze)
βœ…75g margarine dices
βœ…250ml buttermilk

Method
πŸ”ΆPreheat oven to gas 4/ 180degrees
πŸ”ΆIn a large bowl mix together the dry ingredients- self raising flour, wholemeal flour, baking powder and salt
πŸ”ΆRub in the margarine with your fingertips until the mixture resembles rough breadcrumbs
πŸ”ΆAdd 1 egg and mix well
πŸ”ΆAdd the buttermilk and mix well until the mixture comes together. If you find the mixture is too dry, add a little extra buttermilk
πŸ”ΆKnead the mixture with the heel of your hand on a lightly floured surface
πŸ”ΆFlatten out slightly and then using a scone cutter, cut the dough into approximately 8-10 pieces
πŸ”ΆPlace on a lightly floured tray and brush the top of the scones with a little beaten egg to glaze
πŸ”ΆPlace in the oven and start your timer for 30-35 minutes until golden brown
πŸ”ΆTake out of the oven and cool on a wire rack
πŸ”ΆDust with icing sugar and enjoy!
