Hurling star JOHN GARDINER is the official face of Leisureworld, Churchfield for 2006-2008..

The old Churchfield swimming pool, which served generations of Corkonian's for many years, was closed down in 2003.

In its place, Cork City Council erected a brand new, state-of-the-art facility which provides the local and surrounding area with a very accessible means to a healthy and fun way to spend their leisure time. This new facility was opened to the public in July 2005 has been a huge success over the last year.

The facilities available at Churchfield include 3 pools, a super size slide, a state of the art gymnasium, sauna and steam room, an aerobics studio, eight 5-a-side outdoor pitches. Also available are fitness programmes for people of all ages, children's birthday parties , swimming lessons, summer camps and a teen gym specifically designed to encourage younger people to take exercise in a safe and social environment.
